The last 48 hours have been exhausting: the ongoing news from nearby France have been horrifying! At first, astonishment, shock, then sorrow and grief followed by a growing sense of overwhelming distress mixed with aversion and disgust. Sadness. Anger. Fear. At last, a strong desire for justice.
Minute after minute, hour after hour, outbreaking news bounced from media to social networks, from radios to the streets. Paris Attack, Paris Shooting. Je suis Charlie.
Terrorists in Paris? Killers with kalashnikovs? Journalists executed? Unarmed people dead? More than 80 thousand French (Special Armed Forces, Police, Gendarms) mobilised for a manhunt? Hostages? Deadly urban raids ending terror spree?
An unmanly action perpetrated by few in the Paris attack resulted in an unanimous condemnation where the multitude stands up with candles and pencils in name of freedom, life and peace.
